Per the Humane Society (HSUS) there are many activities happening Tuesday, Feb. 26—the 14th annual Spay Day USA! If you’d like to participate in a local event, check out our events page, where you will find Spay Day events nationwide.

Here is just a sampling of what’s going on across the country for this year’s Spay Day USA:
* HSUS President and CEO Wayne Pacelle will be in Los Angeles to speak at the bill-signing ceremony for the newly passed city ordinance requiring cats and dogs 4 months and older to be spayed or neutered.
* Volunteers for Animal Welfare in Oklahoma City, Ok., is hosting “Love Without Litters” during which cat spays and neuters will be provided for just $25, rabies shot included.
* The Animal Birth Control Clinic of Waco and Huts for Mutts Rescue of Hamilton County in Texas are partnering to provide 50 cat neuters for 50 cents. The ABC Clinic’s staff, veterinarians and all medical supplies will be transported an hour away to a rural area.
* Local vets throughout Whatcom County in Washington will spay or neuter as as many cats and dogs as possible.
* Tacoma Humane Society in Tacoma, Wash., is partnering with local veterinarians to beat their goal of spaying or neutering 500 animals on Spay Day.
* Northwest Wisconsin Spay/Neuter Clinic in Amery, Wis., offering spay/neuter discounts.
* South Central Kentucky’s Spay Day USA Mascot Radar the Weather Dog is making special appearances during February.
* Spay and Neuter Solutions is promoting “Sexless in Tucson” (Ariz.), offering spays and neuters at just $10 for cats and $25 for dogs, regardless of size, age or gender.
* Hundreds of other special discounted or free spay/neuter clinics are being offered nationwide for pet owners in financial need.
* The Doris Day Animal Foundation provided a special $50,000 Spay Day USA grant to spay or neuter hundreds of cats and dogs in 10 of the states most in need of discounted spay/neuter services, including Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and West Virginia.
